Fastbreak® Terms and Conditions Changes

Important message about changes to the Fastbreak Terms and Conditions

Dear Budget Fastbreak Member,

As a valued customer and member of our Budget Fastbreak program, we want you to know that we have updated the Terms & Conditions of the program for the United States and Canada—and these changes will take effect on September 11, 2008 for any Fastbreak rentals on or after that date. Please be advised that your next Fastbreak rental will serve as your acceptance of the new Terms & Conditions. Some of these changes, as described below, enable us to provide you with exiting new optional services.

We have begun equipping our cars with Budget e-Toll at select U.S. locations. Should you choose to use it, this automated toll payment option enables you to bypass cash toll lanes helping you save time, making your travel smoother and more stress-free.

In addition, we also offer On Star® (in select models) to provide you with additional emergency services; and the where2® GPS navigation system by (at select locations).

We urge you to read the Terms & Conditions carefully, because they contain all of the changes we have made. They also contain Budget’s current privacy policy. It is important for you to be familiar with all of our Fastbreak Terms & Conditions, as any of them can affect you. For your convenience, we have described the current changes below. It should be emphasized that these descriptions are not a substitute for reading the Terms and Conditions.

  • Paragraph 11, Damage to/Loss of the Car has been revised with respect to the way your responsibility for damage to the car is calculated for rentals in California.

  • Paragraph 18, Fuel Service Charge now has 4 refueling options: A. If you do not accept the fuel service option at the beginning of your rental and you return the car with less fuel from when you received, you will be charged the per-mile/per-gallon rate specified on the rental agreement. B. If you accept the fuel service option at the beginning of your rental, you will be charged as shown on the rental agreement for that purchase and you will not pay us a fuel service charge. C. You may avoid a fuel service charge if you return the car with the fuel tank filled as when you received it at the beginning of your rental. D. If you drive less than 75 miles, you will have to pay a flat fee to the rental. You can avoid this charge at time of return by providing a receipt for fuel purchased.

  • Paragraph 23, OnStar System has been added because many of our cars are now equipped with this feature. If you fail to return the car, OnStar may provide any necessary information to enable law enforcement to locate the vehicle.

  • Paragraph 24, where2 Global Positioning Satellite System (GPS) as also been added because at various locations this optional service now available. You are responsible for any loss or damage to the unit and its accessories regardless of cause even if you have accepted LDW.
